The NABAIntroduction to Fashion Design summer course gives aspiring fashion designers, or just people who love fashion (with no age limit), the chance to experience an enjoyable two weeks creating a mini-collection from the first ideas to the final presentation and all that that involves.

An intense two weeks starting with research on a fashionable theme, then putting down ideas, playing with images, and developing them, making mood boards, creating a fun fashion item and producing a portfolio of finished designs that students can then take with them if they then wish to apply for further studies on diploma courses.

Each student is encouraged, and shown how to, express their ideas to the maximum. Meanwhile, talks will be given on the fashion system as well as cultural background and input lectures on the chosen theme.

There will also be explorations of Milan‘s glamorous fashion, and ‘alternative’ fashion, zones and important design stores; as Milan offers the best design and fashion outlets in the world.

“Introduction In Fashion Design” is part of NABA Summer Programs, which have reached their 7th edition this year.

NABA faculty have worked hard improving past programs and developing new ones to make the Summer Educational offer as interesting and varied as possible.

Milan will provide a stimulating and enticing environment: Milan is the city of architects, designers, fashion stylists, entrepreneurs, graphic designers, creative minds and publishers.

In addition to the more traditional courses in Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, Graphic Design, Interior and Product Design, NABA has developed brand new courses in extremely topical fields such as Fashion Marketing, Fashion Photography and Journalism, and Cinema Studies.

This can be the first step towards developing creative potential (Introduction Level courses) or improving and enhancing existing skills (Studio Level courses).

Introduction to Fashion Design will take place from July 5th to 16th 2010 in the city of Milan.

Fashion designing is a highly satisfying profession in several ways, monetarily, creatively and even in terms of popularity. The top fashion designers of the world are no less celebrities than top actors and actresses of Hollywood. So, if you have the talent and the skill for it, you might consider enrolling yourself in a fashion designing school and becoming a top fashion designer. If you have the right education, your raw skills get polished and you stand a much better chance at becoming popular in the profession.

Now, when you are choosing a fashion designing school, these are the things you should especially look for:-

1. Check out the reputation of the school. Schools that have a long-standing reputation in the fashion world will be able to give you good job leads later on, and maybe placement will be a possibility too. When you decide upon a particular fashion designer school, do some research on it in terms of the reviews it has obtained and what people are saying about it on online discussion boards. One more way to check out the reputation of the school is to look into its accreditation. Accreditation from a national fashion designing institution means that the program of the school is of a good repute.

2. Look into the syllabus of the school. What subjects do they include? Basically, the subjects must include art history, color coordination and sketching. These are supplementary subjects; you should be able to choose other subjects of your choice as the primary subjects. Apart from that, the fashion designing school that you select should be able to give you a solid grounding in all the fundamental aspects of the art and should give you all the raw information you need to make your decisions on what subject of specialization you will take.

3. There are different primary subjects that you can take for your fashion designing course. You can choose from among basic design, pattern making, draping and such. However, there are specialized schools that can teach you related arts as well. You might opt for merchandizing of fashion goods, for instance. Or, you might want to specialize in fashion designing for kids or pets or for a specific type of apparel such as sportswear or beachwear. You might even want to opt for men’s wear or women’s wear exclusively. Just remember to choose your specialization early on so that your education goes in the direction you want it to go.

4. One more thing that you should see is the alumni records of the institute you are planning to join. Have some of these people become top fashion designers of the world today? It is reassuring to know that you are part of an institute that has given birth to some of the popular designers of the world today. But, of course, you need to remember that fashion designing is a very individualistic art. What has happened with one individual will not happen with you automatically if you don’t have the talent and don’t work in the right direction.

Alexander Wang is one of the best when it comes to edgy and boyish women’s wear designs, especially those of the Best Designer Shoes. He has a way of playing it out with colors and is quite well known for his casual but “ready-to-walk-down-the-catwalk” designs. Although of Chinese descent, Alexander was born in the United States from Taiwanese immigrant parents in 1986. He spent his first 18 years in California and then moved to New York to pursue his passion in fashion designing.

But things did not really go out as well as planned. Alexander Wang dropped out of the school on his second year and instead went directly into launching his first ready-to-wear line in 2007 with the name, Alexander Wang, after himself. His collection was very chic, with a touch of French and the nineties style, casual and most of all, a hit. His collection was dominated by beautiful sweaters which he mostly hand-knit himself. During the release, the line was sold in over 200 stores.

Aside from women’s apparels, edgy Alexander Wang Shoes, his first footwear collection was launched in 2009 in which were mostly towering platform sandal designs. Alexander Wang’s signature is his detailed and perfect craftsmanship on any kind of material, from cashmere to denim and others. His designs also have a trademark of having fine clean lines, polished and definitely very modern, which made it a hit for the young and the trendy. He is also a big fan of empire dresses where his designs are a perfect fusion of sophistication and edginess. Today, he has a growing number of fans including many top celebrities.

Many fashion experts say that it is hard to pinpoint one single style for Alexander Wang because the designer has a way of playing around with colors and lines. He is known today as one of the most promising young minds in the fashion industry and most of his typical works such as Alexander Wang Frankie Velvet Stomper Boot, Alexander Wang Karmen variegated toe loafers, Alexander Wang Mirte Lace-Up Sock Boots Suede, etc. can always be seen at the online market. They are really masterpieces in fashion.
